life meaning. Assistance with resume and job coaching will be offered. As
Business Owners and Managers, let us look at how we can create passion, a
sense of mission, focus, goals, and performance oriented management.
Each participant will leave with a Career/Business Plan and his/her own Personal Mission Statement.

counseling and executive talent acquisition, he and his firm have placed more
than 1,600 individuals in professional positions. His clients include both
small business and fortune 500 companies in the United States, Europe, Latin
America and Southeast Asia. Richard has worked with individuals at all levels

He is the founder and spiritual director of the
Mercy Center for Healing the Whole Person, Colorado Springs, CO, as well as

Embracing the Change
that is Life: An Inner Journey Day for Women
When change enters our
lives, life requires a response. How can we learn to respond to change from
love even in the midst of fear? How can we bring faith to bear in the face of
the unknown? The structure of this day includes group sessions, as well as open
times for meditating, walking the grounds, journaling, reading and private
prayer. This is not a preached retreat.
Mary Ann Warner
of Hastings NE and Barb Byers of Omaha NE have each received professional
training in spiritual direction and retreat ministry. They have a unique
ability to meet others where they are and accept them as they are. This allows
participants to return to daily life nurtured, renewed and energized in their
personal relationship with God.

Letting in the Light: Living the
Christian Mystery in Our Daily Lives
In the midst of a growing
sense of darkness in our world, we need to gather together to let in the light.
The central Christian Mystery is an invitation to joy. In this retreat we will
share light from Scripture and science, from literature and laughter, from
theology and the wisdom of our lives. Practical and inspiring, this retreat
will focus on the light that shines in the darkness, the Light that the darkness
will never overcome.
Patricia Livingston,
a nationally known speaker and award
winning author, is much in demand as a keynote speaker, workshop leader and
retreat director. She is best known for her touching, story-telling style of
illuminating the presence of God in every day life. Pat is a contributor to
U.S Catholic, Living Faith and other periodicals. Her newest book is
titled, Letting in the Light (Ave Maria).

Wisdom of the Little
Flower
St. Therese of Lisieux,
sometimes affectionately called the “Little Flower,” will be our guide in this
retreat. We will explore her spirituality: her simple, child-like approach to
God. What is her message for our complex world?
In preparation for the retreat, it is helpful to read St. Therese’s
autobiography Story of a Soul.
Sister Kathleen Courtney, OSB, is a Benedictine Sister from Yankton,
SD, and holds Master’s Degrees in Art Education and Creation Spirituality. She
taught Art at Mount Marty College, presently offers spiritual direction and is
an experienced retreat director.

Mary—Woman of Courage
Who is the real Mary? For
many of us the real Mary remains hidden in the pages of the gospel. She is seen
as a passive young woman consenting to do God’s will. Mary’s story must be told
in the context of 1st century Galilee. In a very real sense, Mary is
our example in our call to follow Jesus. Get to know Mary in this retreat as a
model of a courageous woman of faith.
Sister Mary Ann
Schmieding, SSSF, is a School Sister
of St. Francis. She has a Master of Divinity from Aquinas Institute and is a
trained spiritual director. As a pastoral minister for 29 years, she has
conducted retreats, facilitated prayer groups, and has directed formation
programs for groups of all ages.

Advent Retreat
As the winter wheat uses
stillness and nourishment to bud forth new life, our hearts, nourished by
imaginative scriptural prayer, can birth Jesus anew. The retreat comes from the
Church’s medieval spiritual treasury to deepen our spiritual journey.
Sister Elizabeth Fuhr, a Marycrest Franciscan, assists people in self-empowerment. She
studied at the International Franciscan School in Canterbury and has a Master’s
in Christian Spirituality and Psychology. She does spiritual direction, is a
Colorado licensed marriage and family therapist and the author of, No Place
to Stay: A Handbook for Homeless Outreach.
